How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days USA 9:00 pm  ET

Ten days? Hey, sister, sit him down with this movie and you can get the job done in a couple of hours. Forty years ago, this would have been a Doris Day-Rock Hudson vehicle, but Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey lack that pair's flair for taking stale material and whipping it into something memorable instead of just, well, stale and whipped. This is the kind of froth that gives froth a bad name.

The Ricky Gervais Show HBOE 9:00 pm  ET

Goodbye, Mr. Chips TCM 10:00 pm  ET

In a year that also saw the releases of "Gone With the Wind," "Stagecoach" and "The Wizard of Oz," Robert Donat's indelible performance as the shy British schoolteacher who guides many students to adulthood snagged a 1939 Academy Award for best actor over competition that included Clark Gable's Rhett Butler. Greer Garson also stars.
